Round 9 of 22: raise your hand if you feel personally victimized by Silverstone 2026

I still haven’t fully comprehended what we all witnessed yesterday, but I feel emotionally roughhoused.

Emotional highs:

  • An iconic start from the Ferraris

  • Charles ending a 623-day winless streak to take the victory

  • George finally having luck go his way and asking on the radio for his family to come down from the grandstands for his first-ever home race podium

  • The Red Bull family continuing to deliver in style: Isack P5, Liam P6, Arvid P7

Emotional lows:

  • MBS participating in the LEGO drivers’ parade (??)

  • Lewis’ jumpstart penalty

  • George’s slow puncture, forcing an unplanned pitstop

  • Kimi’s left front wheel shield failure and the ensuing heartbreak on the radio

  • Max’s late crash at Stowe (second race weekend in a row he’s had a rear wing malfunction that’s caused a high-speed crash)

  • An FIA “software error” mistakenly broadcasting a "Safety Car In This Lap" message that got our hopes up for a last-lap shootout, only to have the race end under safety car

I sadly couldn’t make it to Silverstone this year. I had birthday and Fourth of July plans I’d already committed to, but it looked like an incredible one to be at. It’s very high on my bucket list.
