Update as of Jan 23: I’ve spoken with Sky directly. They’ve apologized, and explained that the Lando video was presented to them by a third-party as okay to use. I didn’t grant that third party (or Sky) permission to film, distribute, or post me or my content but I recognize mixed media situations like red carpets can be confusing and chaotic.
My frustration with the situation and how it was handled still stands, and my goal with speaking out is to spark a conversation about editorial standards and giving credit where credit is due — especially to smaller creators whose work deserves the same consideration given to others.
That said, I want to make clear that I don’t believe Sky acted with malintent. As I said in my post, I have a huge amount of respect for its journalists and the work they do to cover the sport.
Thank you all for the incredible support. It means the whole world.
I attended the Autosport Awards in London last night as a Creator of the Year nominee. One of the biggest highlights of my career, and an honor I don’t take for granted.
I was fortunate enough to earn a media spot on the red carpet and had the privilege of interviewing several incredible people in motorsport.
One of those interviews was with 2025 World Champion, Lando Norris.
I’ve met Lando before, but I’d never had the opportunity to ask him a question on camera until that moment.
As a relatively small creator, I made sure to only ask one very intentional question so as to give others the opportunity to do the same.
I’m aware — and perhaps overly cautious — of the space I take up in media settings. Being more aggressive would probably serve me better, but it’s not my style.
I posted the video to my account the evening of the Awards and went to sleep.
I woke up to my question and video reposted to the Sky Sports and Sky Sports F1 Instagram page, with no credit and their watermark stamped over it.
No one from Sky reached out to me for consent. On the contrary, they hid my comment calling that out. I would’ve gladly collaborated with them on the post.
They’ve since added my handle to the caption, which is appreciated, but does not excuse the act.
I have the utmost respect for media and journalists, and spent a good chunk of my career at a think tank dedicated to advancing media literacy in society.
I don’t write this to seek pity. People copying content comes with the territory of social media — there’s rampant misuse of IP (an issue I spent this past summer working on) and a nebulous grey area when it comes to ownership.
I’m also not one to make a public display of these things, but I think it’s fair we expect better from media institutions who should be modeling editorial and journalistic standards.
I write this to bring attention to the issue so it doesn’t continue to happen to other creators. I know I’m not the first to experience it.
An outlet with that much money, ample resources, and an army of people at the event capturing their own content does not need to take a smaller creator’s video and put their watermark over it.
I’m certain their journalists asked incredible questions and captured their own great content. There was no need to take my one and only question.
It’s lazy, disrespectful, and doesn’t constitute journalism.
I’d like to make clear that I have a huge amount of respect for many Sky Sports journalists. This is not an indictment of all those associated with Sky.
But from the Sky Sports Halo embarrassment to lifting others’ content without permission, whoever is responsible for making those editorial decisions internally should not hold the privilege of their position.
A massive thank you to my fellow creators and wonderful audience for sticking up for me in the comments and in my DMs. You’re the real deal.
This is not the piece I had in mind for covering the Awards, so stay tuned for much more as we get back to regularly scheduled programming next week.

So very well said Tiggy! I appreciate your amazing work and believe you have EARNED your place in the F1 media world thanks to your consistently insightful, thoughtful coverage. 👍👍
Really disappointed in Sky Sports. They know better and have all the resources in the world to have either asked a better question to get their own content or reach out to you/give real credit so you’re represented here. I’m still not convinced that by slapping their logo on it and putting you at the end of a caption that you have to tap to expand (which most people will not see) that they are legitimately crediting you. Poor, irresponsible journalism. So upset for you.
